Get Ready for a night out on the town in Tacoma Washington
A night on the town in Tacoma, Washington could include anything from dinner and a movie to a symphony or opera performance, or drinks and dancing at a local nightclub. Choose from a number of Tacoma restaurants in almost any genre you can think of, American, Asian, Italian; Barbecue, Deli, Seafood - the list is endless. Catch a movie at The Grand Cinema, a small non-profit, art-house cinema in dowtown Tacoma, featuring the best independant, foreign, and documentary films. The Broadway Center for the Performing Arts features three unique theaters and an acclaimed performance series. The Pantages, a beautiful historic theater seating 1,170 audience members, offers a lush performance experience and is home to The Tacoma Opera, Tacoma City Ballet, Tacoma Philharmonic, Tacoma Concert Band, and Tacoma Symphony. The Rialto, a 742-seat theater that originally served as a grand movie palace, hosts the Tacoma Youth Symphony Association, the Northwest Sinfonietta, and the Puget Sound Revels. Theatre on the Square, a 302-seat facility with a contemporary flair, offers a more intimate setting and is home to the Tacoma Actors Guild. Entertaining the after work crowd and late night enthusiasts, 21 Commerce is a place where guests can "Unwind and Dine," as their slogan goes, beginning with the after work martini and on into the night. Built into an old fashioned warehouse facade, "21's" atmosphere is at once inviting and contemporary. Huge storefront windows light an airy interior of exposed brick and beams. Plasma Screen televisions glow against finished wood and the bar's stainless steel detailing. Cushioned booths set the vibe: comfortable, intimate, electric. In the evening the mood changes: Lighting softens and the club begins to pulse to the beats of down tempo acid Jazz. These are just a few ways to spend an evening in Tacoma, for more ideas visit the Tacoma Regional Convention and Visitors Bureau website, and request a free, full color Visitors Guide.
